Digitalisation Directorate General
The Digitalisation Directorate General oversees the coordination of ICT policy & strategy development, planning, monitoring and evaluation of the Justice Sector ICT projects, initiatives, activities and services.
The mandate of the directorate is the continuous change of the manual processes to digital processes, based on a sophisticated IT infrastructure, digital applications and optimally networked systems and data. This leads to the use of digital technologies and data, to not only improve public service delivery in reducing costs of service and the administrative burden, but also create a conducive digital working environment and conditions, whereby digital information and Justice Sector business processes are at the core.
This Digitalization at various levels of the Ministry of Justice and the Justice Sector institutions has been facilitated by a confluence of factors, which include the Rwanda widespread adoption of Internet-based and online services, underpinned by Internet and telephone penetration, increasing digital-literate and digital-aware citizens.
The Ministry of Justice and Justice Sector institutions have embraced digitalization to provide user-friendly, effective, fast and affordable government to government & government to citizen services. This was achieved and will keep the same momentum, through the citizens’ experience perspective, aligned vision, prioritized goals, pragmatic implementation with digital first approach in the redesign of business processes and effective coordination.
