Every one is called upon to stand up and play his/her role to eradicate poor contract management

On Friday 30th November 2018, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston met with Corporate Division managers for corporate services and Procurement Officers from Various Government institutions. The meeting focused on Contract Management in Public institutions.

In this meeting, Minister Busingye urged the Corporate Division managers to protect Rwandans against poor management of government contracts and advised procurement officers to create a mechanism through which every contract that the government signs is followed through.

He emphasized that if Corporate Services’ Managers and Procurement Officers play their roles as expected, the issues of poor contract management and others highlighted by the Auditor general’s report would be easily eradicated.

 “Poor contracting is nearly resolved now. Poor contract Management is becoming a pandemic in Government contracts. Every one is called upon to stand up and play his/her role. The nation will remember you for the great service you rendered to it.” Minister concluded.
