On May 25, 2018 at Lemigo Hotel, Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston held a consultative meeting with Government officials and Non-Governmental Organisations working in the area of judgment execution and other enforcement orders. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss on how to streamline the enforcement of court decisions and other enforcement orders.

Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston tackled on the corruption issue within debt recovery and judgment execution process whereby sellers and buyers in auctions negotiate to get the property at an undervalued cost compared to the real value of the property.

“Property sellers in auctions, buyers, banks, courts bailiffs, lawyers, property evaluators, property dealers and others who collaborate in devaluating people’s properties and sell them <s>it</s> at the undervalued price law, they must be punished and that bad practice should be banished.” Minister Busingye said.

Busingye also emphasized on the problem of dealers who illegally do the job of court bailiffs and property evaluators. He said that they need to establish an official association within which they can carry out their activities legally.

During this meeting, it was revealed that soon a new online technology to be used in bidding for auctions will start. With this application, the auction will be done online without names of competitors and only the bidding price will be shown.
