The Ministry of Justice handed over Rwanda National Police responsibilities to the Ministry of Internal Security
On 18th November 2019, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston handed over Rwanda National Police responsibilities to General Patrick Nyamvumba, the Minister of Internal Security.
During the handover ceremony, Minister Busingye welcomed Minister of Internal Security General Patrick Nyamvumba in the Justice Sector and thanked Rwanda National Police. “For 3 years, 1 month and 6 days we’ve had excellent relationship-which I know will continue. Our minds became Police officers and men. We did our humanely best.” He said.
“We, at Ministry of Justice and the sector in general, will work hand in hand to ensure the rule of law is upheld, security is kept paramount, human rights are respected and our sector continues to service the socio-economic transformation of our country.” Minister Busingye added
In his remarks, General Patrick Nyamvumba said that as someone who has been in the Security organs will continue to collaborate with his colleagues.
"To me security is not something new, like a person who has been in the Security organs, I will work with my colleagues that we have been also working together, we know one another, so, their support is very important and also it is their responsibility to ensure and continue to build on what have been achieved.” He emphasized
